80% of companies without well-conceived data protection and recovery strategies go out of business within 2 years of a major disaster. (US National Archives and Records Administration)

Our Humans at D2NA recommend that all businesses have two independent data back-up systems – one on-site and one off-site. The on-site back-up system could be tape drives or more commonly used now are external USB hard drives. Backing up locally is the easy bit though, how do you then safely and securely get the data off-site?
Simply taking the USB drive home isn’t the answer. What happens if the drive is lost or stolen? What if the drive is damaged? How would you recover the data? The reality is you probably won’t. The loss of data could have a serious impact on your business!

Using an off-site online back-up service is easy to set up because we send one of our Humans to your site to securely collect your data, we then upload the data into our secure data centre – this is the first back up. All future backups are then taken overnight and we only backup the changes which means you can use the service if you have a broadband connection.

Are you worried about allowing  your data out over the internet? Don’t be – your data is encrypted at your site using a 256 Bit Encryption certificate which means all data transferred over the internet is highly secure. Once the data is transferred to our data centre, the encryption remains in place. The password required to de-crypt the data can be retained by you and you only.

So what happens if you suffer a critical data loss? One of our Humans will deliver a copy of your data to you the very next day on an encrypted USB drive. If you are a business that requires minimum downtime, we can replicate your on-site server in our data centre and provide access via an internet browser which means your business will continue to run from anywhere in the world.
