The £6.6 million A4E Work Programme contract is one of many successes experienced by Acorn Training in the past 12 months. Other successes include:

New Employees: Martin Stone and Charitha De Silva

It became clear during the summer that we had a need to expand our team to support our growth.  This led to us to look for a talented Support & Project Engineer that had experience and of course the ‘Human’ personality to join the D2NA family.

Luckily for us and you we found another two Humans, Martin Stone and Charitha (Chas) De Silva!

Martin Stone

Martin is a talented individual that will have a long and prosperous career in IT. He has already proven to be a valuable asset by becoming involved in delivering major projects to some of our customers.

Martin’s role as Project Engineer is to assist with the deployment of our projects whereby we are assisting clients in leveraging the power of IT within their businesses.  His skillset leads perfectly to meeting with clients and dealing with the many challenges that we come across daily.

Martin was born in the late 70’s which explains the bad dress sense and is married to Becky with whom he has 2 children. When he finds some spare time he enjoys watching football and looking after his pet Tarantula. Before Martin chose a career path in IT, he once had hair; unfortunately no photos were available to prove this.

Charitha De Silva

As a business that has a core focus in delivering exceptional service and quality it is important to find Humans that solve problems in a fast and dynamic environment. Charitha (aka Chas) has quickly settled into the D2NA family and is now one of the 1st points of contact for our clients.

Chas’ role as Support Engineer is to understand what your problem is and resolve it as quickly and efficiently as possible.  As a Microsoft Certified Professional we now have another highly qualified and skilled individual within the team that our clients can call upon.

Chas was born in Kuwait, raised in Sri Lanka and now lives in Sunny Stafford with his wife Pia Bloise. Having spent his younger days in Sri Lanka, Chas has a passion for Cricket. After a week of juggling the IT support balls at D2NA, he unwinds by hitting 4’s and 6’s for Milford Hall Cricket Club

Employee Spotlight: Technical Director becomes a Kayaking Instructor

Can it be true?  An IT chap turns into adrenaline junkie?  It seems so at D2NA…..they are human after all!

Matthew Satongar is our Technical Director at D2NA and in his spare time loves nothing more than putting his speedos on and getting his high speed kicks whilst kayaking at the National White Water Centre in Tryweryn.  Although now married Matthew still loves this dangerous sport but has now taken things one step further (probably to appease his new wife!) by becoming a qualified kayaking instructor.

You will now find him on a Monday and Tuesday night hiding away from his wife at Trentham Lakes where he is passing on his skills as a top kayaker to students looking to get into the sport.

You see, here at D2NA we are far more than just IT Champions, we are human!

If you would like to donate some stickers for Matthew’s van to make it look a little cooler than it already is please feel free!  For more information on kayaking visit http://www.ukrafting.co.uk/kayaking.htm.

D2NA Awarded ISO9001 Quality Mark

In June 2010, D2NA announced it had launched an ambitious programme to achieve the ISO9001 certification. I am pleased to announce that D2NA have successfully met all of the requirements and are now ISO9001 certified.

Says Managing Director Graham Doyle “This is not just a box-ticking exercise. It’s had a really positive impact on our business and will shape the future of our company. We now have the systems in place to deliver excellent customer service, every time”

As an IT service provider, ISO9001 is an essential step in systemising our business and building the foundations from which we can sustain continued growth without taking our eye of the ball in terms of existing customers and projects.

Anyone can produce exceptional customer service once. ISO9001 is about pinning down the formula of how we deliver exceptional service, documenting it and bottling it so we can guarantee exactly the same service levels across the board, every single time.

It’s also about systematically measuring what we do and ensuring that we have processes in place to identify areas for improvement and how we go about implementing those improvements.

In order to do that it’s essential that we keep getting feedback from all customers on a regular basis. To those customers who have already responded, I would like to extend my personal thanks, as this will be a big help in our quest for perfection. To those who have not responded yet, here is your chance to influence how we deliver your services in future.
