My primary role is to decide where we should be heading and to create a team that’s capable of getting us there. It’s the role of the management team to deliver the strategy. But with a relatively small team, in practice, I not only create the strategy (along with D2NA’s co-founder Jonpaul Sargent) but am also a member of the management team who delivers it.
A Day in the life of Graham
The best thing about working at D2NA (apart from the awesome people I work with every day) is that no two days are ever the same. I wear many hats at D2NA, and they change from one week to the next according to the needs of our customers. For example I am responsible for managing the relationships in some key clients. I also have ultimate responsibility for the growth of the business. However, as 70% of our new business comes from referrals the best way to grow the business is to look after our existing customers, so that’s what I concentrate on most.
I also consult on customers’ IT strategies and work alongside Matt Satongar and the rest of the team to design their IT infrastructures, ensuring they get the best possible value from their IT budgets. And having a strong technical background I can still sometimes be spotted crawling under desks and behind server cabinets to install or fix computers.
